nine photographs composed in a square

Exercise No. 2 [photography]

Using a digital camera, capture images that illustrate the various meanings of your nine words. Look at the obvious relationships between the word and its common definition, but also look at alternate meanings, slang, and common vernacular. Be specific in what you capture and deliberate in your composition.

Emerse yourself in the collection of these images. Stick your camera in the weeds. Hang it out a car window. Pay attention to the ways color (or the lack of color) influence your perception of an image. Collect hundreds to edit down to the nine best examples.

Compose your nine choices into a square composed of nine sub-squares.
